Sea Otter 2008

Monday, April 21st, 2008

What a fantastic weekend.  I raced the 2008 Sea Otter classic which is the largest race of the year in the area, and is considered a national qualifier event.  Most of the big named pros were in attendance to race.  As for me I raced the beginner 24-29 catagory.  19 people in my catagory and I am very pleased with my 9th place finish.  A top 10 in this event qualifies me for the national championship event in Mt Snow Vermont.  However, I will not be traveling accross the country to get my ass stomped in the beginner class.

This race has given me some confidence that I can do well, and I am getting better.  I made up time on the more technical sections of this course.  The step down towards the bottom was flat out awesome.

Here are some pictures

God bless metal…

Thats all for now. There will be more later. My family has once again grown.

Til then… horns high… and throw them bows in the pit that is life.

You are not alone

Saosin - You are not alone

That’s just like him

To wander off in the evergreen park

Slowly searching

For any sign of the ones he used to love

He says he’s got nothing left to live for

(He says he’s got nothing left)

And this time I think you’ll know

You’re not alone

There’s more to this I know

You can make it out

You will live to tell

She’s just like him

Spoiled rotten, confused by the lies shes been fed

Shes searching for no one (but herself)

Her eyes turn to green and she seems to be happy that she is here

And this time I think you’ll know

You’re not alone

There is more to this I know

You can make it out

You will live to tell

You’re not alone

There is more to this i know

You can make it out

(There is more to know)

We’re not alone

There is more to this i know

You can make it out

You will live to tell

(So tell me)

You’re not alone

There is more to this i know

You can make it out

You will live to tell

You’re not alone

There is more to this i know

You can make it out

You will live to tell

You’re not alone

You’re not, you’re not alone

Ben Harper - “Glory & Consequence”

Ben Harper - “Glory & Consequence”

I’m more afraid of living than I am scared to die.

I’m more afraid of falling than I am of flying high.

But every moral has a story and every story has an end.

Every battle has its glory and its consequence.

I’m more afraid of loving - Oh - than I am of being scorned.

Oh - But I will keep on trying though I have been forwarned.

But every moral has a story and every story has an end.

Every battle,

Every battle has its glory and its consequence,

And its consequence.

I would rather,

I would rather me be lonely and you have someone to hold.

I’m not as scared of dying as I am of growing old,

Growing old,

Of growing,

Of growing old.

Got my metal on

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Tonight… I “got my metal on”.

Got out the EMG Tele tuned to drop c. For an hour I pretty much just pounded the thing into dumb ass metal riffage.

Plugged into my laptop guitar rig with some headphones.

Thats all I got to say.

No words…

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Well I really don’t have a whole lot of words to explain it, but Alex broke up with me last night. While I can’t say I am shocked, it did come out of the blue a bit. I knew something was a bit off, and I tried to give her some space. She “didn’t think it was going to work out”.

I am trying to deal with this as best I can. As anyone who reads this knows I really thought this was it for me. Even a few days ago I posted how nice it was to see her, and hope for the future. That future ended last night. However a new future had to start today. So… one foot in front of the other… one day at a time.

… but at least I am writing again.

not a simple whisper, of all come and gone

never a single note of an old blues song

wrinkled and grey staring off into space

the life he knew gone without a trace

the young grew to old

without a story to be told

the young grew to old

without a story to be told

Been Awhile

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

It has been almost a month now since my last blog update. I guess i just felt like I haven’t had anything to say.

I had been training for a 24 hour mt bike race, which i competed (if you can call it that) in last weekend. It was a team relay event. I completed 4 12.3 mile laps. With an average laptime under an hour and half. I know what you are thinking… “that’s fast”. No… my fastest lap 1:21 would be considered slow by the standards of other teams. It was however the fastest lap my team put in. I will eventually post pictures.

I guess you could just say I have been hanging out… riding… and doing nothing.

Alex came to visit me weekend before last. It was simply great to see her. It had been over a month and a half since I had seen her last. I look forward to the time when a day I don’t see her is odd.

“Lack of planning on your part DOES NOT necessarily mean an emergency on my part.”

This is perfect.

The greatest marketing idea ever

If this tour doesn’t interest the metal scene, which is primarily made up of sexually frustrated male men, I dunno what will.

8 Random Things about Me

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Well I saw this on my friend Cookie’s blog… so I figure I would take a shot at it.

Eight Random Things about Me:

1.) I don’t like wearing shirts, or underwear for that matter.

2.) I can’t go anywhere without my blackberry.

3.) I am useless with power tools.

4.) While I love tomato sauce, and will drink tomato juice (with vodka of course)…I won’t eat tomatos.

5.) My first car was a 1988 Grand Am

6.) My favorite Beatles song is “Yesterday”

7.) I have pencil lead stuck in my left index finger.

8.) I have a blog that no one reads. (yes… I am refering to this blog).
